My father’s father, now 78, showed me the vinyl. In his house there was the first equipment that I saw, he is a great connoisseur of high-quality sound. I’ve always been fascinated by the spinning turntable, the sight of the black disc and the sound from the speakers, I even love the sound of the spinning disc, it’s a very specific and special sound that is not repeated anywhere else. I like the look of the plate. For me, a turntable is not just pure sound, it’s an aesthetic that I like. I also like the modern world, but when I walk through a flea market, I get the feeling that I’m looking for a treasure. I would never change my vintage turntable (remember I had a woodgrain design) but it didn’t sound very good so I had to replace it with a new white and shiny one with these speakers and the music sounds perfect but sometimes I just feel like turn it on on your old player and listen to how it crackles softly during music. Everything that I write is difficult to understand for those who do not care about the pleasant little things in their lives, this is important for me - this was taught to me in the family. There are no “pleasant little things” in modern things, they are practically comfortable; they are odorless (books, wood), have a smooth shape. Take an iPhone - it’s very cool and comfortable, it doesn’t creak, there are no buttons, it feels nice and smooth to the touch! But I’m weird, and sometimes I want to put down my iPhone and grab a console with games, it’s got buttons, and I love that. I rarely talk about this with my peers, sometimes they say “rarity is cool”, but often they don’t understand this coolness themselves, they just say it. I don’t blame them, they just don’t need it.
