My father’s father, now 78, showed me the vinyl. In his house there was the first equipment that I saw, he is a great connoisseur of high-quality sound. I’ve always been fascinated by the spinning turntable, the sight of the black disc and the sound from the speakers, I even love the sound of the spinning disc, it’s a very specific and special sound that is not repeated anywhere else. I like the look of the plate. For me, a turntable is not just pure sound, it’s an aesthetic that I like. I also like the modern world, but when I walk through a flea market, I get the feeling that I’m looking for a treasure. I would never change my vintage turntable (remember I had a woodgrain design) but it didn’t sound very good so I had to replace it with a new white and shiny one with these speakers and the music sounds perfect but sometimes I just feel like turn it on on your old player and listen to how it crackles softly during music. Everything that I write is difficult to understand for those who do not care about the pleasant little things in their lives, this is important for me - this was taught to me in the family. There are no “pleasant little things” in modern things, they are practically comfortable; they are odorless (books, wood), have a smooth shape. Take an iPhone - it’s very cool and comfortable, it doesn’t creak, there are no buttons, it feels nice and smooth to the touch! But I’m weird, and sometimes I want to put down my iPhone and grab a console with games, it’s got buttons, and I love that. I rarely talk about this with my peers, sometimes they say “rarity is cool”, but often they don’t understand this coolness themselves, they just say it. I don’t blame them, they just don’t need it. The fact that I am a little old in my taste is the fault of my parents, who fed me old films and science fiction books since childhood. If you have read to the end, please accept my thanks for that.
